Every year, the USDA Forest Service selects one of its 154 national forests to provide a tree to appear on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol during the holiday season. Six Rivers National Forest Park will bring this special gift from California to Washington, DC during the 2021 holiday.

This tree will appear in Fayetteville on Saturday, November 13th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm outside the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Lot 44.

Under the theme of a multi-ethnic tree in Six Rivers, the 84-foot-tall white fir is called the "sugar bear" and has been harvested in the Six Rivers National Forest to prepare for a 3,300-mile expedition. The journey will include a series of 25 outdoor community celebrations before being delivered to the U.S. Capitol on November 19. Then, the tree will be decorated with handmade decorations and lit in early December.

Celebrations during the Christmas tree’s visit to Fayetteville on November 13 will include public officials’ speeches, decorations, free hot cocoa, and more. The event is open to the public and everyone can enjoy it for free, while complying with local health guidelines.
